Institutional Structure of the Gram Panchayat
President
Chief Administrator of the Panchayat. Leads development activities and administrative activities.
Vice President
Co-operates in administrative activities. Performing administrative duties in the absence of the President.
Standing Committees
They are the committees that regulate development, finance, health and education.

Standing Committee on Development
Development projects are being implemented. It aims at people's welfare and infrastructure development.
Standing Committee on Finance
Regulates the income and expenditure of the Panchayat.
Committee on Health and Education
Committee regulating health and education activities.
Standing Committee on Welfare
Public welfare schemes are being implemented. Aims at social security and welfare activities.
Other Sub-Committees
Formed for activities in specific sectors. Assistance is provided for projects.
Assistant Secretary
Assistance with administrative and office activities. Kudumbashree is responsible for coordination of welfare schemes and implementation of Scheduled Caste development schemes.
Junior Superintendent
Performs day-to-day office operations, file procedures, and supervision of employees.
Head Clerk/Head Accountant
Arranges financial transactions, income and expenditure accounts, budget, taxes and financial records.
Senior Clerk
Coordinates office records, administrative procedures, functioning of various sections, and file verification.
Clark
Handles files and documents. Regulates tax collection, applications, office registers and ward services.
Office Attendant
Assisting with office activities, handing over documents, making office arrangements, etc.
Brief description of the key components
1. Gram Sabha:
A public meeting of the people of the panchayat. Development projects and public needs are discussed and proposals are submitted.
2. Grama Panchayat Committee:
A governing body consisting of people's representatives.
3. President and Vice President:
The main administrative leaders of the panchayat are leading the administrative processes
4. Standing Committees:
Working in the fields of development, finance, health and wellness.
5. Panchayat Secretary:
The secretary is the chief administrative officer of the panchayat. Coordinates office work, file processes and administrative management.
